This 1950 Winchester Standard barrel was originally chambered in .22 Hornet but appears to have been rechambered to .222 Remington. The barrel has not been marked with the correct chambering. The bottom of the 24" barrel has a 1950 date marking. The front ramp is a Type 7, with 18 striations, which was produced from 1957 through 1963.

A chamber cast was made; the shoulder measured 0.362" and the neck is 0.251". The bolt would not come close to closing on a .223 round. We have a photo of the chamber cast next to a .223 round and next to a photo of a .222 round. The chamber cast will be included with the barrel.

We may have some other parts for a .222 Remington conversion; contact us if you need them.

Bluing - Needs cleaning, but in very good condition with very little wear.

Metal - Very good to excellent condition.

Bore - The bore has light throat wear and some pitting, resulting in a rating of 7 out of 10. Borescope verified.
