This is a high condition Featherweight rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. The receiver and bolt are serial number matched with number 381952, indicating a 1956 manufacture date.
The metal is in excellent condition with an original factory finish, no notable blemishes and very little bluing wear. We rate the bluing at 95%. The aluminum bottom metal is still mostly dark, with some very small scratches, particularly around the rear trigger guard screw. There is some minimal finish wear on the receiver rails, at the muzzle, and on the firing pin. The bolt handle has minor thinning and wear.
The bore of the 22" barrel has no throat wear but a few scattered pits, rating an 8 out of 10 under borescope examination.
The stock is original and in excellent condition, featuring a Monte Carlo comb and an aluminum buttplate. The finish shows hardly any wear, with only a few light scratches and handling marks. The checkering is sharp, clean and undamaged. The buttplate has light wear to the finish but remains in very good condition.
