This .257 Roberts standard rifle was produced in 1950. This rifle has been a shooter and has a few experience marks from the woods to prove it.  But it has been well cared and will make a nice addition to someone's collection.  The metal retains all original factory finishes and the stock has been expertly restored.  The rifle has no modifications. The rifle grades in NRA very good condition with the metal finishes at 85%-90%. Just 2% of pre-64 model 70 rifles were chambered .257 Roberts, making this chambering scarce and highly collectible.

The stock is a very nicely figured piece of American walnut which has been restored to closely match the factory finish. It has very little evidence of handling with no noteworthy blemishes. There are no cracks gouges, chips, oil stains or other problems in the stock. The original checkering is intact with no issues. The factory steel buttplate is intact with minimal bluing wear. For the metal portions of the rifle, the original bluing is retained and grades at 85% to 80%.  The barrel has edge wear, a few scattered freckles and one are of total bluing loss near the muzzle (see closeup photo).  The receiver has one small finish blemish near the receiver sight screw holes (see photo).  The bore of the 24" barrel grades an 8 out of 10 with no throat errosion or pits and just light rifling wear near the chamber.  The action is tight with no noted issues or wear. All parts are original and correct for the period and chambering.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can receive and transfer the rifle to you.
