This .270 WCF standard rifle was produced in 1949. It is a high-condition rifle in original factory finishes and configuration. It grades in NRA very good to excellent condition.

The original bluing is outstanding at better than 95% with very light edge wear on the receiver and bolt knob, but no abnormal rubs or noteworthy blemishes. The bore of the 24" barrel is bright with strong rifling and no pitting or heat cracking. There is slight erosion at the throat, but not problematic. We grade the bore an 8 out of 10. It is our opinion that our disassembly of this rifle for photography was the first time the stock had been removed from this rifle since it left the Winchester factory.  The stock retains its factory finish in near-perfect condition.  The factory steel buttplate is intact and (along with the ears of the 22G rear sight) shows some bluing wear. There are no cracks or stains in the wood and the checkering is crisp and unblemished. There are a few small handling marks overall, as shown in the photos, but all are very minor and there are no gouges or other real damage of the wood.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who receive and transfer the rifle to you.
