This is a very nice .308 Winchester Featherweight rifle, produced in 1960.  It grades in NRA very good to excellent condition.

The original bluing grades at 90% and with just light edge and handling wear and, but no noteworthy blemishes. The bore of the 22" barrel is bright with strong rifling and no condition issues.  The stock is a dark walnut and bears a vintage, but not factory finish. The stock has not been bedded or modified other than the addition of a Pachmayr white line recoil pad.  The wood is perfect with no handling marks, gouges cracks, oil stains or other problems. The checkering is crisp and unblemished.  The bolt is serial numbered to the rifle

This rifle comes to us from a local family collection which has held the rifle since the 1950s. The grandson of the original rifle's owner contacted us on behalf of his uncle who is the current keeper of these rifles and made arrangements for us to meet the family and inspect the collection. We were so pleased and impressed, both with the provenance and also the condition of the rifles. These rifles were used by the family for Washington state deer hunting and were also carefully maintained.  Several rifles in the collection were even featured in a magazine, along with the father of the current owner.

This fantastic photo of the owner with this particular rifle was taken in the early 1960s for an outdoor magazine article on hunting in the northwest.

The rifle is being sold on consignment along with the balance of the family collection due to forced retirement as a result of COVID-19.
