This is a .375 H&H Magnum standard rifle in excellent condition.  It has original factory finishes and configurations, except for the stock which has been professionally restored here in the pre64win shop.  The receiver and bolt are serial number matched with number 127737, indicating a 1949 manufacture date.

This rifle is an interesting example of a late-transition era rifle.  Only the H&H rifles have transition features as late as 1949-1951.  It has a tapered tang and smooth rear bridge which we believe was undrilled from the factory (a "transition era" feature), but which has since been drilled for scope bases. These holes are not drilled all the way through the bridge, leading us to the conclusion that these were not factory holes. The bases shown in the photos are included with the rifle, or they can be removed and the holes plugged.

The metal on this rifle grades at 98%. The original bluing on the barrel is in pristine condition with almost no wear.  The muzzle has faint edgewear and the bolt knob shows slight thinning of the bluing, but there are no notable scratches, dings, freckling or other cosmetic flaws.  The bluing on the bottom metal is also nearly perfect.

The bore is near-perfect, like new. We know the rifle has been fired due to traces of copper in the bore but there is no wear or pitting.  Borescope verified.  We rate this bore as a 10 out of 10.

The gorgeous low comb stock has been refinished in our shop and equipped with a reproduction Winchester recoil pad.  The stock is in like-new condition with no cracks, scratches, dents, or blemishes.  The checkering is sharp and crisp with no flaws or flat spots.  The length of pull is 13.5".

All parts are correct and appear to be original to the rifle, with the exception of the recoil pad.
