German Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dialytan 4x scope in Custom Claw Mounts on a 1951 Standard Receiver with Matched Bolt
This is a beautiful post-war German Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dialytan 4x scope mated with custom made German claw-style mounts, mounted on a 1951 standard receiver and bolt housing.
Because the mounts cannot be easily removed from the receiver, this is being sold as a complete unit, including:
1951 standard receiver
Factory-matched bolt housing
(sorry, the barrel is not included)
This is a very high-end custom scope solution dating to the 1950s. Rare to find on an American rifle, the claw style mount is widely considered to be the very best and most repeatable quick release system available. This type of mount is a German/Austrian design and it remains popular on the highest end European custom rifles. We do not know the history of this rifle, but it is likely it was customized in Europe or by a European smith working in the US.
The scope is clear and features a German #1 style post reticle. There are no dents or noteworthy damages to the steel tubed scope. There is slight bluing wear and a few minor finish blemishes, as seen in the photos. All adjustments move freely with no apparent issues. Overall the scope grades in very good condition.
The bases and claw mount system are in excellent condition functioning smoothly and locking up securely when the scope is installed.
The standard receiver is in excellent condition and appears to have been rust blued - it has a beautiful even satin finish with no damages. The receiver has not been modified. The bolt handle is match blued to the receiver with minimal finish wear. The bolt shaft is line-grain polished to the appearance of a factory new bolt shaft. The bolt housing has not been modified in any way
