This is a special order stock for a .30-06 Model 70 bull rifle. This stock has the original custom shop fishtail checkering, as seen in Roger Rule's book.
This stock maintains its original finish and has not been modified except for a small inletting for the elevation screw on a 105pt Lyman 48WH receiver sight. The original finish is slightly worn in some spots but remains mostly even throughout the stock. The stock checkering is unworn. There are some light scratches in spots throughout the stock, but no other marks of wood damage. Overall, this stock is in very good condition.
