This .270 Win standard rifle was produced in 1951 - the heyday of model 70 production. This is a really nice rifle in original factory-original finishes and no modifications. It grades in NRA very good approaching excellent condition. This is a fantastic collectible rifle, and one you don't need to feel guilty about taking out of the safe and shooting!
The stock retains its factory finish in very good condition. The stock has not been shortened and the factory steel buttplate is present. There are a few very light handling marks in the wood, but no noteworthy wear on the finish and no noteworthy blemishes - no cracks, gouges, or stains in the wood. The checkering is sharp with no problems. There is what appears to be a small factory repair in the inletting of for the rear sight boss. It is nearly invisible - see closeup photos of this area. The original bluing is 98% with some very minor edge and muzzle wear and a couple very minor scratches (all visible in the photographs), but no noteworthy rubs or other blemishes. There is no visible bluing wear on the steel buttplate. The bore of the 24" barrel is bright with strong rifling.
