This is a 1952 pre 64 model 70 barrel from a National Match rifle. This barrel is excellent with no modifications.
The National Match rifle is one of the rarest model 70 configurations ever made. Just 1,971 National Match rifles were produced, second in rarity only to the Super Grade Featherweight.
The National Match was born out of Winchester's desire to create a lightweight target rifle. The NM barrel is a special 24" C1 sporter-profile barrel, but differs from a standard sporter in that it is drilled for the target rifle scope block, and has a unique low-profile sight ramp which is not slotted for a sight hood.
Bluing - Excellent condition with 95% bluing.
Metal - The metal is excellent with no gouges, rust, pits etc.
Bore - This bore is very good, gauges at +.00005, graded as 8/10.
