This is a sporter barrel for the pre-64 Model 70 rifle, chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The bottom stamp on the barrel has a production date of 1952.
Bluing - 90% - The bluing on this barrel shows some signs of wear. Towards the tip of the muzzle there is some bluing wear as well as a dark stain in the finish. There are several spots where abrasions or scratches in the metal have worn off bluing as well.
Metal - Overall, this barrel is in very good condition. There are numerous light scratches and abrasions in the metal, but they are all very minor. There are no significant nicks or other marks of metal damage throughout the barrel.
Bore - 9/10 - The rifling in this barrel shows very few signs of use. The rifling is smooth and bright throughout the length of the barrel, and there are no scratches, spots of pitting, or other marks of damage anywhere in the bore. Borescope verified.
