This is a standard barrel for the pre-64 Model 70 rifle, chambered in the .30 Government 06 caliber. The bottom stamp on the barrel has a production date of 1949.
Bluing - 80% - The bluing on this barrel shows several notable signs of wear. The sides of the front 1/3 of the barrel are significantly worn, and there are a few spots of wear towards the base of the barrel as well. There are also many surface scratches and scuffs that have removed bluing.
Metal - Overall, this barrel is in very good condition. There are numerous light scratches, scuffs, and rub marks throughout the length of the barrel, but there are no significant nicks or other forms of metal damage visible.
Bore - 7/10 - The rifling in this barrel is very clean and shows almost no signs of use. The rifling is smooth and bright throughout the length of the barrel, and there are no scratches, spots of pitting, or other marks of damage anywhere in the bore. Borescope verified.
