This is a .30-06 Springfield standard barrel from a Model 70 rifle. The underside is marked with a date stamp of "40", but we are unsure if this is an original marking. The barrel marking (type 3A) in consistent with barrels produced from 1940 to 1950, and the front ramp is the integral front ramp used from 1936 until 1953.

Bluing and Metal - 85% Bluing - This barrel has some wear and light freckling. There are a few light scratches.

Bore - 9/10 - With no throat wear, but with some scattered freckling, the bore rates a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
