This is a custom stock made for a post-war standard rifle.
This stock is nicely crafted from birdseye maple in the form of a factory Monte Carlo stock. It features a raised comb with no cheek pad. The stock features a Nieder style blued steel buttplate with a long slender widow's peak and a small inlaid brass plate near the toe. The stock is well made and is very attractive. The inletting is superb and fits a post-war standard rifle action and barrel as good or better than a factory stock. The stock shaping and contour are excellent. The checkering is crisp and in very good shape, but has some minor imperfections in workmanship.
The stock is in excellent overall condition. The new finish is even and smooth throughout the piece. There are no nicks or scratches in the wood. The checkering is unworn and clearly defined. The receiver inlet has not been bedded.
