This is a Featherweight barrel for the pre 64 model 70 rifle, chambered in .243 Winchester. The barrel stamp indicates 1955 as the year of manufacture. The front sight ramp has the crosshatched roll die pattern (#5) that was used only for a short period of time, and was considered an experimental design.
