This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1948 standard rifle. Both pieces are marked with the serial number 92082 (faintly on the bolt). Both pieces have been re-blued, but unfortunately, there is some pitting on both the bolt handle and receiver tang that did not clean up in the bead blast process.
Receiver - The receiver bluing is a silvery satin finish, freshly done, with no wear or blemishes. There is patch of pitting in the tang area that was bead blasted and blued, but still shows through the new finish. There are also some shallow scratches in the rear bridge that show through the bluing. There are no other scratches, dings, or other damage to the metal.
Bolt - The bolt body has been polished out and has no scratches or other metal damage. The bolt handle was freshly re-blued but unfortunately also has some pitting that shows through the bluing.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
NOTE: Laws governing transfer of firearms require that receivers be shipped to an FFL holder. If you do not hold an FFL or C&R license, you will need to enlist the services of an FFL to complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can complete the transfer on your end.
