This is a receiver from a 1957 standard rifle, marked with the serial number 395149. The rear bridge has been modified with the addition of a stripper clip slot. Adding this slot necessitated drilling a new hole for the rear scope bases. The hole pattern is now the same as an H&H magnum receiver. The slot was a little roughly done but should not interfere with the functioning of the rifle.
The bluing is original; showing edge wear, light wear on the rails, and in the tang area. There are a few scratches, but no dings or other damage to the metal.
