This is a .270 Winchester target rifle produced in 1952. This rifle is in very good to excellent condition with some handling or storage wear as noted below. Some target rifles get a lot of use, with many rounds fired through them. Not this one, it's truly a "safe queen".

The metal is in excellent condition and the bluing grades at 95%. There is no noted finish wear on the 24" barrel; there is very light bluing wear on the guide areas of the receiver where the bolt lugs contact the guides. The extractor ring shows some bluing wear from bolt cycling, and there are a couple of very minor worn spots on the bolt and handle. but no other wear of the bluing is noted. The bottom metal has a few light scratches.

The bore of the 24" barrel has no visible throat wear and no pitting under borescope examination. The only proof that it has been fired are a few light copper streaks in the bore. We easily grade the bore a 9 out of 10.

The stock is in excellent condition but appears to be an old refinish. It has a few handling marks, a couple light scratches and shallow dings. This is some staining at the butt and the tang (see pictures). There is a slight notch hidden under the receiver sight. The stock has not been shortened or otherwise modified and retains its original steel buttplate in near perfect condition.

The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver. The correct 1.25" target swivels are present.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can receive and transfer the rifle to you.
