This is a .270 Winchester standard rifle, produced in 1950, and in excellent condition. The bolt is correct and serial number matched, faintly, to the receiver. The front sight is not original, all other parts appear original and correct for the rifle.
The bluing is dark and even. There is a small rub on the trigger guard, a scuff mark from a receiver sight on the receiver, and a few very small scratches on the floorplate but no other notable wear. The metal is in excellent condition with no dings, pitting, or other defects.
The bore of the 24" barrel shows no notable wear in the throat or pitting; it rates a 9 out of 10 upon borescope inspection.
The low-comb stock has almost no wear, dings or scratches and there are no gouges, cracks, or splits. There is a repair in the receiver area where a mark from a receiver sight has been filled and blended. The checkering is very clean and crisp, in excellent condition. The stock retains its factory-original steel buttplate in excellent condition.
