This is a standard rifle chambered in .30-06. The receiver and bolt are serial matched with number 5249, indicating a 1937 manufacture date.
The beautiful factory original stock is in excellent condition, showing only light handling marks and no cracks, splits, or repairs. The checkering is clean and crisp with only a few tiny blemishes, and the stock retains its original steel buttplate.
The receiver has had two holes drilled in the rear bridge for a scope mount.
The metal finishes appear to be original with the possible exception of the floor plate, which is pristine, suggesting that it may be refinished. The bluing is overall is 97%, with only a few light scratches and pitting on the trigger guard, and wear on the butt plate. Overall, it is in excellent condition.
The bore of the 24" barrel shows very little wear, but it contains significant pitting throughout the length of the bore. Do to the amount of pitting we rate it a 5 out of 10. Boroscope verified.
