This is a very early .308 Winchester Featherweight rifle, produced in 1953 (2nd year of production). This rifle grades in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing grades at 98% and is near perfect slight edge wear and no noteworthy blemishes. The bore of the 22" barrel is bright with strong rifling and no condition issues. The stock has a quality refinish which closely matches the factory finish and is in perfect condition. The wood is perfect with no handling marks, gouges cracks, oil stains or other problems. The factory aluminum buttplate remains. There checkering is crisp and unblemished.
As an early featherweight, this rifle has the integral sight ramp and type-II bolt (undrilled knob), which are both unique to these earliest of Featherweight rifles. The bolt is serial numbered to the rifle
