This is a standard rifle chambered in .257 Roberts, produced in 1949 with a serial number of 129799. The rifle has no added holes or other modifications, and it grades in NRA very good condition. The bolt may have been polished; the serial number is faint but appears to be correct.
The stock is original in all respects with some light handling wear but no significant cracks, gouges, splits, or repairs. It retains its original steel butt plate, which has some bluing wear. The checkering is in very good condition with light wear.
The bluing is in very good condition. The bluing on the rear bridge of the receiver and on the bolt handle has some discoloration and blotches; these areas appear to have been re-blued. The rest of the bluing appears original. There is some edge wear, most pronounced on the bottom metal. The are a few shallow scratches but no deep dings or pitting in the metal.
The bore of the 24" barrel has some light wear in the throat and no significant pitting. We grade it as a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
