This rifle is chambered in .270 Winchester; the receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 6883, indicating a 1937 manufacture date. This rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
The stock shows light, honest wear from years of use in the form of a few scratches, dings, and scuffs. There is a notable dent in the stock, located just behind the pistol grip. The checkering on this rifle is clean and crisp, with 20 lines per inch, which is correct for its production date, with a few small dings. The stock is unmodified, retaining its original finish and steel buttplate.
The metal finishes and parts appear to be original, with the exception of the floor plate and magazine follower which are from a later-production rifle. The bluing is original Carbonia rust-blue, grading at 95%, with some light fading and a small ding in the muzzle.
The bore is in near perfect condition without notable wear or pitting. It rates a 10 out of 10. Borescope verified.
