This rifle is chambered in .30-06. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 20167, indicating a 1939 manufacture date. This rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
The stock shows honest wear from years of use, in the form of scratches, dings, and scuffs. There is one notable dent in the stock, located just below the Winchester roll stamp on the barrel. The checkering on this rifle is clean, crisp, and unmarred, and 20 lines per inch, which is correct for its production date. The stock is unmodified, retaining its original finish and steel buttplate.
The metal finishes and parts appear to be original, with the exception of the floor plate which may be from a later-production rifle with factory-oxide bluing. The bluing is original Carbonia rust-blue, grading at 90%, with some light fading, 1 notable scuff above the roll stamp, and some muzzle wear. The receiver has a single hole drilled in the rear bridge for a scope mount.
This barrel shows only light wear but has significant pitting throughout the length of the bore. It rates a 6 out of 10. Borescope verified.
