This is a beautiful Type-1-4 Super Grade rifle chambered in .30-06. It is serial marked 61077, indicating a 1947 manufacture date. The rifle retains all original factory finishes with no added holes or other modifications. It grades in NRA excellent condition.
The metal is all original with original finishes, grading at 90% with light edgewear and a couple of small (1/8") areas of bluing loss on the barrel. Please see photos.
The barrel has light scattered pitting throughout, with some increased pitting near the muzzle. The rifle is still fully functional but the barrel pitting may affect accuracy. We grade it overall a 6 of out 10.
The stock has been restored in our shop, including rebluing of the buttplate, and is in excellent restored condition. There are no cracks, stains, modifications, or other notable problems. There are a few minor nicks that could not be remedied during restoration.
Although it's a transition year rifle, all features are pre-war (Type 1-4), including cloverleaf tang, clip-slot, recessed receiver bridge, and flag-style safety. All parts are original and correct for a super grade rifle, including the Redfield sheared gold front sight. The bolt is correct and serial matched to the rifle.
