This is a 1960 Featherweight rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. The receiver and bolt are marked with matching serial numbers 478122.
The metal is in excellent condition overall, retaining original factory bluing at 90+%. The barrel bluing is nearly perfect, with one very slight rub near the sight ramp. The muzzle and sight hood have almost no edgewear, and the receiver and bolt knob have only minor thinning of the bluing. Most of the bluing wear occurs on the bolt components, including the bolt sleeve assembly and extractor ring. The bottom metal is mostly dark and even with a few scratches or scuffs.
The Monte Carlo stock appears to have factory finish in very good condition with some handling marks. There are surface scratches, scuffs and dings, but no cracks, chips, gouges, repairs or structural issues. Some areas appear slightly more shiny, which may indicate some finish touch up or overcoating. The factory hard plastic buttplate has light wear to the edges but no significant damage. The checkering remains quite clean and crisp with a few flat spots from handling.
The bore of the 22" barrel has no pitting or heat cracking. There is some light throat erosion, which makes this bore rating a 9 out of 10 under borescope examination.
