This is a very clean 1958 Standard rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. The receiver and bolt are marked with matching serial numbers - 431499.
The metal is in exceptional condition, with the original bluing rating at 95% and very little wear. There's very slight edgewear at the muzzle and on a few of the bolt components. The bottom metal is smooth and dark with no blemishes, and the steel buttplate shows virtually no wear.
The bore of the 24" barrel is nearly perfect, with very little throat wear and just a few small shallow pits. It rates a 9 out of 10 under borescope examination.
The Monte Carlo style stock remains in excellent condition with its original factory finish. There are no cracks, splits, gouges, deep scratches, past repairs or any other notable damage. There are a few light handling marks and small scratches. The checkering remains clean and sharp in excellent condition.
