This is a .257 Roberts Standard rifle built in 1951. The bolt and receiver are both marked with serial number 182835. The rifle is in NRA very good condition.
The beautifully figured low comb stock is in very good condition with an original finish and a few minor handling marks but no major dents, dings, splits, or chips. The checkering is clean and crisp with minor flattening of some diamonds. The steel butt plate has lost much of its finish and wears some light freckling.
The factory bluing shows notable wear and has likely been touched up in some spots. The barrel bluing remains dark and even overall, except for some edgewear to the muzzle and sight hood. The bolt knob, floor plate and trigger guard all show notable wear and freckling. There is also finish wear to the receiver rails and some of the bolt components. However, there are no notable dings, gouges, or other metal damage or repairs. Best of all, the bolt on this rifle works buttery smooth.
The bore of the 24" standard barrel has minor throat wear but no pitting. We rate it a 9 out of 10, based on our borescope examination.
