This is an excellent condition 1955 Featherweight rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The receiver and bolt are marked with matching serial numbers - 348927.
The barrel appears to have been reblued at some point in the past. This bluing is in excellent condition rating at 95% with no notable blemishes and very little wear. There's a hint of rust pitting at the muzzle, and the sight hood shows light wear. Aside from that, the barrel finish is perfect. The receiver wears its factory bluing in very good condition with light wear to the rails and some of the bolt components. The bolt knob has minor thinning, with one small rub. Please see pics. The aluminum bottom metal is pristine with no edgewear, fading or notable scratches.
The bore of the 22" barrel is in near perfect condition with almost no signs of use. We rate it a 9+ out of 10 under borescope examination.
The stock has been professionally refinished in the pre64win shop. It is in like-new condition with no cracks, chips, scratches, scuffs dings or past repairs. The aluminum butt plate is also refinished and shows no wear or scratches. The original factory checking is in very good condition with a few flat spots but no major blemishes.
