This is a .243 Winchester Featherweight barrel. The manufacturing date is not legible; it may be 1953. It has the number 5 front sight ramp, indicating it was probably manufactured around 1954. The #5 ramp was only used for a short period of time and Roger Rule describes it as "experimental" in his book The Rifleman's Rifle.
Bluing - 90% - The bluing on this barrel is dark and even but has wear near the muzzle and a spot on the top of the barrel.
Metal - Overall, this barrel is in very good condition; there are some a few minor scratches and one very small, freckled spot.
Bore - 8/10 - There is some light wear in the throat but no pitting in the bore. There are no signs of other metal damage. Borescope verified.
