This is a standard steel floor plate from a Winchester Model 70 rifle. The underside is stamped with the signature triangle-dash proof mark of a pre-war floor plate, indicating a manufacture date between 1936 and 1947. The original finish is heavily worn.
Bluing - 50% - The bluing is largely gone from the hinge-tab to the middle of the floor plate. There are also dings and one small area of shallow pitting.
Metal - The metal remains in very good condition with a few dings and an area of shallow pitting.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
