This is a .243 Winchester Standard rifle built in 1961. The bolt and receiver are both marked with serial number 524360. The rifle is in NRA very good condition.

The Monte Carlo stock has an older refinish. There are some handling marks in the form of light scratches and shallow dings, but there are no cracks, splits, or other forms of damage. The stock was previously bedded to the receiver and barrel; the recoil lug was freshly re-bedded in our shop. The barrel bedding remains in place; it is solidly bonded to the stock and is floated, with no barrel contact. The original sling swivel were replaced with a standard stud. The checkering is clean and crisp with no flat spots. The hard rubber butt plate is in very good condition but has what is probably stain over-run in some of the checkering grooves.

The metal finish is in very good condition with light wear on the bolt components and at the muzzle. The bottom metal has a few shallow scratches and edge wear. The are a few small patches of freckling on the barrel but no notable scratches, dings, or other metal damage or repairs.

The bore of the 24" barrel has some wear and heat cracking in the throat resulting in rating of 7 out of 10, with no evident pits or other issues. Borescope verified.
