This .257 Roberts standard rifle was produced in 1954. It is in pristine condition - easily the highest condition rifle ever to enter our shop. It presents in the correct factory configuration with with all factory finishes at 100%. This rifle grades in NRA perfect condition.  Just 2% of pre-64 model 70 rifles were chambered .257 Roberts, making this chambering scarce and highly collectible. The exceptional condition of this rifle make it particularly rare and desirable.

The stock is a deep colored piece of American walnut which retains its factory finish in perfect condition with no blemishes in the wood or finish. The factory steel buttplate is intact with no visible wear. The original bluing is perfect, grading at 100%.   There is not a hint of edge wear or muzzle wear. The bottom metal is perfect as well. The bore of the 24" barrel has no visible signs of use.  It would support an argument the rifle having never been fired, except there is a small mark from where a cartridge has contacted the follower - other than this we can find no evidence the rifle has been fired. There are no tool marks on the action screws.  There is no visible wear on the factory metal finish of the bolt shaft, which is serial numbered to the receiver.

This is a truly spectacular example of this scarce and highly collectible model 70.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who receive and transfer the rifle to you.
