This is a Winchester model 70 Featherweight rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 565822, indicating a 1963 manufacture date. This rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
The stock has its original finish with a few handling marks and a couple of spots that may have been touched up. The checkering is in good condition with some light wear and a few flat spots. It appears the checkering machine used on these later stocks didn't completely cut the rear-most lines on both sides of the panels - see photos. The original hard rubber buttplate has some dings and scratches. There are no repairs, splits, cracks or other damage to the stock.
The blued finishes are in very good condition with light wear on the bolt components and some fading on the receiver. The aluminum bottom metal has a couple of very small scratches and some fading on the floorplate. There are no deep dings, scratches, or other damage to the metal. All parts appear to be original and correct for the rifle.
The bore is in excellent condition with no notable throat wear and just a few shallow pits near the muzzle. We rate it as a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
