This is a 1951 Model 70 Standard rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The receiver is marked with serial number 191590, indicating a 1951 manufacturing date. The serial number marking on the bolt is worn but appears to be matching. This rifle shows some wear and handling marks, but the bore remains almost perfect. The parts appear to be correct for the rifle, the chambering, and the year, except the rear sight is a pre-war Winchester 22K and the correct sight for this rifle would have been a Winchester 22G.

The low comb stock retains its factory finish but may have been overcoated. There is very light handling wear but no deep scratches, gouges, splits, cracks, or other damage or repairs. The checkering remains in very good condition. The original steel buttplate has notable bluing wear and discoloration, but no significant rust or pitting.

The metal finishes show some wear and bluing loss. The bolt components have wear, especially the bolt handle and there is a scope rub mark on the handle. The floorplate and trigger guard have wear and freckling. The bottom of the barrel, hidden under the stock, has a notable patch of shallow pitting - see pictures. There is also a scuff on the top of the barrel.

The bore of the 24" barrel is in excellent condition, with just very minor throat wear and no pitting, rating a 9 out of 10 under borescope evaluation.
