This is a 1960 Model 70 Standard rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 380514, indicating a 1960 manufacturing date.
The original finish low comb stock is in very good condition with just a few light handling marks and one notable scrape on the tip. It retains the factory steel buttplate, which has some finish wear. The stock has no other significant dents, cracks, repairs, or other damage. The original checkering is clean and crisp with very little wear.
The metal finishes are in very good condition, although the barrel was probably reblued. There is light wear on some of the bolt components and the steel bottom metal. There are no other significant dings, scratches, repairs or other damage to the metal.
The bore of the 24" barrel has almost no wear, pitting, or even signs of use. We rate it as a 9 out of 10 under borescope evaluation.
