Winchester produced only 7,452 rifles in all chamberings in 1942 and this .30-06 is one of them. This particular rifle come to us from a local collector in trade for some even rarer rifles. The bolt is faintly marked with the same serial number as the receiver (46654). The receiver has not been drilled for scope mounts.
The stock is in very good condition with honest wear but no cracks, gouges, or other major damage. The finish is probably original but has been touched up. The checkering is original and also in near perfect condition. The stock retains its original steel buttplate and sling swivel which are worn but in very good condition.
The re-blued finish grades at better than 95% condition and the metal has no significant damage.
The barrel has no notable throat wear but enough shallow pitting to result in a rating of 7 out of 10 under borescope examination.
