This is a .300 H&H Magnum rifle produced in 1950. The bolt and receiver are serial number matched with number 153619. It is a transition model with a combination of pre-war and post-war features including a tapered tang, 1 factory hole on the rear bridge, and a solid bolt knob. The stainless barrel indicates this was a custom order rifle.
The metal on this rifle is in excellent condition and rates at 90+%. The stainless barrel presents in excellent condition with no notable blemish or wear. There is very light bluing wear on the receiver rails and more notable finish loss on some of the bolt components. The extractor appears refinished. The bottom metal has original finish rating 90%, with just a few scratches and some light freckling.
The bore of the 26" stainless barrel appears nearly new, rating a 9+ out of 10 with borescope inspection.
The Low Comb stock has an older refinish job in very good condition, with some minor handling marks in the form of light scratches and dings. There are no cracks, chips, gouges or past repairs. The aftermarket Pachmayr vented recoil pad remains pliable with no cracks. The checkering has notable flattening from handling. The length of pull is 13-1/2".
