This is a beautiful Featherweight rifle in the hard to find .358 Winchester chambering. The rifle presents with all original parts and configuration, and overall rates in NRA very good to excellent condition. It is serial marked 354999, indicating a 1955 manufacture date.
Metal - The bluing on this rifle is in very good condition at 90%, showing only minor cosmetic flaws. Having been hunted with, it carries a few small blemishes, primarily in the barrel bluing. The bottom metal shows light edge wear and a few minor scratches.
The bore of the 22" barrel shows little evidence of use with strong rifling but has some superficial pitting in scattered places - evidence it was put away wet at least once. There are no deep pits and we do not expect the damage will meaningfully impact accuracy. We have graded the bore at 7 out of 10 with the borescope.
The low comb stock retains its original finish and aluminum butt plate. The stock is in very good condition with some light honest wear, including shallow dings and worn spots but is free of cracks, splits, stains, deep gouges, or other notable blemishes. The butt plate has some finish loss and shallow scratches.
There are no noted modifications or major defects noted for this rifle. All parts and finishes appear to be correct for the .358 Win and original to the rifle. The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver.
This rifle came out of a collection in London, Ontario, Canada. We managed the import and the rifle has an extremely small and discrete import mark on the underside of the barrel, just forward of the stock tip (see photo). The import mark measures approximately .050" by .250" in size.
