This is a fantastic scope mount option for pre-war rifles, as it permits a scope using the factory holes. This mount will work with any model 70 (including post-war) as well as the model 54, as shown in the photo. Note - there are different variants of the Stith mount - the one shown in the detailed pictures is the actual one you will receive. The overview picture is a generic photo, not the actual part.
These are vintage mounts and are designed for period scopes from the 1940s and early 1950s. The rings are 7/8" in diameter. This mounting solution works excellent with the Lyman Alaskan 2.5x scope, or other 7/8" tube scopes with a straight tube objective.
