When Winchester introduced the .458 Winchester Magnum cartridge in the "African" Super Grade rifle in 1958, the rifle needed a special sight. Initially they used a variation of the Lyman Number 6, but then quickly adopted this new sight, the Adjustable Sporting Rear Sight. Elevation adjustments are made with the small wheel; windage adjustments are made by drifting the entire insert.
This particular sight is a reproduction part; new condition, in the white, fully functional, and complete with the correct screws. It differs from the original part in that it does not have the "Up" marking next to the elevation adjustment wheel, nor the arrow. Additionally, the contour of the ends varies slightly.
