The .375 H&H is a standout among model 70s, bearing several features which are unique to the chambering. These included a 25" barrel with a distinctive contour, and a dual-folding leaf rear sight.

The rear sight on the .375 H&H came in two different designs:

  • The Lyman 6W, which was used until 1956. This sight was used with a dovetailed base on rifles with the 25" C1 (medium-heavy) contour barrels, and without the base for the very small number of .375 H&H rifles produced with the 24" standard #1 contour barrel
  • The Winchester 70B which was appeared in 1953 and used through 1963. It will only fit rifles with the 25" C1 contour barrel
  • The post-64 Winchester 70B sight has slight differences, but will mount to the factory pre-64 barrel holes. Screws are not included with this sight.

The hole spacing is 1.25" on both the Lyman 6W with base and the Winchester 70B sight.

These original pre-64 sights are exceedingly scarce and nearly impossible for us to keep in stock. As an alternative to the original, we also offer a post-64 .375 H&H sight. It is a genuine Winchester part and has the same hole-spacing as the pre-64 sights. The only functional difference is the post-64 folding leafs are slightly taller, which can be adjusted for with a taller front sight.
