This is a beautiful .22 Hornet carbine produced in 1945. Less than 1,000 rifles were produced in 1945, and of these only 77 were chambered for the .22 Hornet. Of those 77, only a handful would have been produced in the carbine configuration, making this rifle a very rare combination of chambering, configuration, and production year. This particular rifle is equipped with the factory-installed Lyman 47 WJS receiver sight.  The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver and all finishes and the configuration of this rifle appear original.

The original bluing is 90% with some edge wear and bluing loss on the muzzle and bottom metal.

The 20" barrel contains no throat erosion but has light pitting through the length of the bore we rate it as a 7 out of 10. Boroscope verified.

The low-comb stock retains the original steel buttplate. There is a small chip bordering the factory cutout for the full-block receiver sight, but otherwise has no issues.  There are no cracks or splits or other repairs. It retains the orignal finish with typical handling marks from normal use. The checkering is original and still crisp.
