This is a superb 1949 Super Grade rifle chambered in .22 Hornet. Serial marked 128206, the rifle is in NRA very good condition. The barrel is dated 1949, matching the receiver, and the bolt is correct and also serial number matched to the receiver.
The bluing on the rifle is in very good condition - grading at 90% with almost no wear or handling marks. The barrel and receiver may have been previously re-blued and they have some scattered freckling. The bottom metal has been re-blued and is in excellent condition. There are no dings, gouges, or notable scratches in the metal.
The bore is in very good condition, with no visible wear in the throat but a few pits. We rate it a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The refinished stock is in very good condition, with almost no handling marks, scratches or dings. There are no cracks, gouges, stains or other significant cosmetic flaws. The checkering is crisp, clean and unmarred. The stock has not been shortened, bedded or otherwise modified, and retains its original steel buttplate.
