This is a superb 1952 Super Grade rifle chambered in .22 Hornet. Serial marked 226757, the rifle retains its original factory finishes in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing on the rifle is in excellent condition - grading at 98% with almost no wear or handling marks. The bottom metal appears pristine. The one notable flaw to the metal is a ding at the end of the muzzle. Please see photos. The barrel is dated 1952, matching the receiver, and the bolt is correct and also serial number matched to the receiver.
The bore is in perfect condition, with no visible wear in the throat, no pitting, and generally no evidence that it has ever been fired. The rifling is crisp and sharp. We rate it a 10 out of 10. Boroscope verified.
The stock retains its factory finish in very good condition, with just a few light handling marks, scratches and dings. There are no cracks, gouges, stains or other significant cosmetic flaws. The checkering is crisp, clean and unmarred. The stock has not been shortened, bedded or otherwise modified, and retains its original steel buttplate.
Based on our examination, we conclude this rifle is a factory super grade rifle with 100% original finishes, and which has seen little to no actual use.
