This beautiful .220 Swift Standard rifle was produced in 1937. It is a high-condition collectible rifle with all factory finishes and in original configuration, grading in NRA very good to excellent condition.
The original bluing on the rifle grades at 95% with light edgewear on the bottom metal and around the muzzle, and handling wear on the bolt nob. There is one notable scuff to the top of the barrel (please see photos). The bore of this rifle contains very little pitting but has notable erosion and heat cracking. It grades a 6 out of 10 with borescope inspection.
The stock has been professionally refinished and is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, splits, stains, or other notable blemishes. The fine checkering is 20 lines per inch with just a few minor dents and smoother areas from handling. Otherwise the stock is in pristine shape showing very little evidence of use. It is equipped with the factory original steel butt plate.
All parts are original and correct for the period and chambering. However, the serial number has been polished off the bolt and is not visible.
This rifle has an extremely small and discrete import mark on the underside of the barrel, just forward of the stock tip (see photo). The import mark measures approximately .050" by .250" in size.
