This is a 1956 featherweight rifle chambered in .243 Winchester and is in NRA excellent condition. The receiver and bolt are marked with matching serial numbers - 375478.
The metal is in excellent condition with an original factory finish, no notable blemishes and very little bluing wear. The aluminum bottom metal is mostly still dark, with some light fading and a few small scratches. There is some light finish wear on the receiver rails, extractor, and firing pin.
The stock is original to the rifle with a Monte Carlo comb and an aluminum buttplate. The stock is a particularly well-figured piece of walnut with far better color and character than most non-Super Grade rifles. The stock had some finish problems when we received the rifle and has now been fully restored by the pre64Win team. The stock has no modifications and retains its original aluminum buttplate, which retains its factory anodized finish. The restored finish closely resembles the factory finish and the stock has no noted blemishes, damage or repairs.
The bore of the 22" barrel is in very good condition. There is no notable pitting but there is moderate throat wear. It grades at 7 out of 10 under borescope examination.
