This is a rare .243 Win sightless standard model 70 rifle produced in 1962. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 551545. The rifle is in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing on this rifle grades at 98%, showing almost no wear, the notable exception being slight wear on the extractor ring and the trigger guard. There are no dings or other damage to the metal.
Possibly unfired and without any pitting, the bore is rated as a 10 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The Monte Carlo stock has an original finish and with the exception of a few light handling marks is flawless. There are no gouges, cracks, dents, or oil stains. The original checkering is clean and crisp without any flat spots or dings. The hard rubber butt plate is in excellent condition.
