This is a very nice standard rifle chambered in .243 Win and produced in 1957. The rifle presents in original finishes in NRA very good to NRA excellent condition.
The stock has its original finish with a few small areas of flaking but no gouges, chips, cracks or other notable handling marks. The original checkering is crisp and unblemished. The original steel buttplate is in good shape with minor bluing loss. The metal grades in NRA excellent condition, with 98% bluing. The receiver and barrel have no edge wear, rubs or other bluing loss. There is a slight mark from a past scope mount, otherwise the receiver and barrel are perfect. There is slight bluing wear and light freckling on the bolt knob. The bottom metal shows minor edge wear from honest use.
The bolt, was previously jeweled and has been line-grain polished to restore the original factory look. The bolt guide rails of the receiver have been professionally polished to smooth the action, which is like silk.
The bore rates a 9 out of 10 - nearly perfect. There is absolutely no pitting, rifling wear, or signs of heat damage.
