This is a .243 Winchester target rifle produced in 1956. The rifle presents in all factory-original finishes and grades in NRA excellent condition.
The metal is in excellent condition. The factory “iron plate” bluing of the stainless barrel is perfect. There are some very light scratches on the front receiver ring, as well as light bluing wear on the guide areas of the receiver where the bolt lugs contact the guides. The extractor ring shows some bluing wear from bolt cycling, but no other wear of the bluing is noted.
The bore of the 26" stainless barrel is outstanding under the borescope, with absolutely no wear, pitting, heat checking, or throat erosion. We grade the bore a 9 out of 10.
The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver.
The stock is retains its factory finish in excellent condition with just a few slight handling marks, but no damage. The stock has not been shortened or otherwise modified and retains its original steel buttplate. The correct 1.25" target swivels are present.
